Amanda Noel

Yesterday (the 29th) was a big day for my little sister, Amanda Noel. Not only was it her birthday but now she is engaged! Jon proposed the night before. I feel special because I was the first person she told. Probably because I was the only person up, but minor details.

My little sister is getting married? I'm getting old!

Sponsor Love

My sponsors keep this blog going. Without them, I wouldn't have nearly as much time to devote to my blog. I do have to work, you know! To show my appreciation for my current sponsors, I've compiled a little roundup of all of my sponsors and one notable product from each of their sites. I had to limit it because otherwise this list would turn into a novel, so please take the time to click around and look through their shops!

Pumpkin Patch

On a bit of a whim, Bobby, Kimbly and I went to Colonial Springs Farm on a hunt for pumpkins and apple cider donuts. They didn't have the donuts (they're only available on weekends) but the pumpkins were plentiful. They had little radio flyers to pull your pumpkins with. We also used it to carry our purses!

They also had corn mazes, a petting zoo, raw honey (we walked by the tiny apiary), fresh apple cider and homemade pies! We left with pumpkins and the best apple pie I've ever had. The three of us devoured it in one day. Kim and I keep looking at each other and saying, "Why aren't we supermodel thin again? I don't get it." She's my food enabler (like Brendon and Jason in Home Movies). I need to get it together. But it was sooooo good. SO GOOD.

While searching for our pumpkins, we saved this little slug from destruction. Surely he would have been crushed underneath that pumpkin! Bobby and I named him Wiggles. Kim is upset because she thinks his name is Fluffy. Two to one. Wiggles it is!

The farm was quite magical. I'm kind of glad that we were all overdressed for the occasion, because it made it that much more enjoyable. It was like something from a storybook. I think we'll be going back this weekend to hunt down those donuts!

My outfit details: vintage dress from Beacon's Closet, tights and shoes from Target
Kim's outfit details: shirt from thrift store, jumper from Beacon's Closet, tights and shoes?
Bobby's outfit details: shirt and belt from H&M, tie by Calvin Klein, jeans from Target, shoes from Urban Outfitters

On love.

Politics are a big part of my life, but I try to keep it all out of my blog (I've learned from past mistakes). However, it was brought to my attention that one of my rotating ads was targeted against gay marriage, and I'm sickened by this oversight. The ads are supposed to be filtered according to my content (which specifies NO religious, political or sexual ads) and I am currently trying to find out why that was changed.

Needless to say, I'm pretty embarrassed. Many of my closest friends are gay and though they know where I stand, I hope it didn't offend any of them.

I don't want this to turn into a huge debate. Let it be known that I am 100% for same sex marriage and equal rights. Love is love.

Edit: EFF Google Adsense. The anti-gay ads are becoming more frequent, even as I changed my preferences to ONLY pre-approved ads. This is ridiculous. I removed it from the blog. Until this gets worked out, I'm done!

Poet Blouse

Outfit Details:
Poet Blouse: The Vintage Mistress
Bow Belt: thrifted in Florida
Skirt: H&M by way of Beacon's Closet (I live down the street from this store; I can't help it)
Tights: Target
Shoes: Target

One of my newer sponsors, The Vintage Mistress, sent me the most beautiful package full of vintage goodies. I was practically drooling. Supayana and The Vintage Mistress gifts in the same week! And lipsticks and mineral makeup and face cream and tights (more on those later)! It felt like Christmas. Now I know what it feels like to be Bobby. People give free stuff to Bobby all the time. He lives in a bubble! Have you ever seen the 30 Rock episode with Jon Hamm where everyone treats him differently? That's Bobby! My friends and I always joke about Bobby's bubble world.

All of the items were gorgeous but I was particularly drawn to this blouse, which is aptly named the Poet Blouse. It is perfect. I wore it the day after the shoot with Fringe. The combination of new hair and the perfect vintage blouse put me in such a great mood. Bobby was in a great mood as well, can't you tell? Then again, he is always in a great mood. It must be that sunshine bubble he lives in;)

Maisy, Maisy Mouse

Postlapsaria "Maisy" Trapeze Dress in Autumn Florals, now available at

Postlapsaria "Maisy" Trapeze Dress in Oatmeal, now available at

I just updated Postlapsaria with seven new items. I don't have time to do a full on update of the new items yet (I have to be up really early) but I wanted to show you one of the new dress designs that made its way to the site! This is the "Maisy" dress and it is currently available in two color combinations. It has a trapeze fit, girly little peter pan collar and a tied opening in the back. The oatmeal version features a double collar and both are made out of vintage deadstock materials. Anyone remember Maisy Mouse? I used to watch that with Tessa when she was little.

I'm trying to devote more time to the site's inventory, so you will be seeing a lot more in the store from now on! Please check the site for all of the new items and snatch them up before they're gone!

Borrowed Hand-Me-Downs

My friend Samara let me borrow this amazing vintage Moschino skirt that was passed down from her mom. Did her mom have cool taste or what? My mom also had some pretty killer clothing too, but she was a size zero when she was my age! That's like a negative four by today's standards. I can probably fit one of my thighs into her old skirts. Oh well, I'll just borrow Samara's mom's that cool, Samara? ;)

Outfit Details:
Vintage knit beret
Postlapsaria liquid metal drape blouse
Thrifted cummerbund
Thrifted tuxedo style blazer
Vintage Moschino green fringe skirt
H&M tights
Alice + Olivia for Payless shoes
Coach Cambridge Zip Top Tote (I know I wear this a lot but I love it!)

Dear Life,

I know I may through curses your way and there are times I want to punch you in the face, but I don't want you to think I'm ungrateful. You certainly gave me some extraordinary company, people and animals alike. I don't want to gush but the boyfriend is quite possibly the best in existence. You outdid yourself!

Also, thank you for all of those lemons you've given me. I freaking love lemonade.

Love love,

Keiko Lynn

I was a little premature with the new hair pictures, because I still have a bunch of old pictures to share! Silly me.

I'm super excited about my newest sponsor - Supayana! Yana is an adorable, kitty loving (yay!) girl who makes one of a kind and limited edition clothing from vintage and second hand textiles. I received a package from her right before I left for Florida. I couldn't wait to wear this cute bunny top! It was too hot for muck boots so I put on some high shoes and socks to avoid the stinging nettle and other itchy ankle biters. It didn't work (obviously).

While Tessa was taking some photos of my outfit, Thelma decided to come and visit. I really wish you could all meet our many critters; they are all so full of personality! Even people who aren't fond of animals fall in love with our little ones.

I will be wearing this shirt over and over. I am in love with the bunnies! It's made from vintage fabric and a vintage scarf, with little fabric buttons on the sleeves. Please check out Supayana's Etsy to see all of her creations. She is amazing!

Outfit details:
Bunny top - courtesy of Supayana
Denim skirt - thrifted and hemmed
Pink socks - from my mom
80%20 navy platforms - gift from Kimbly!

Special guest appearance by Thelma the goat.

Bobby and I did a little bit of hair modeling the other day, for Fringe Salon's new advertisement (you'll see that later). When Amy (the owner) asked me if I would mind going back to my darker roots, I felt like she was reading my mind. The reddish hue was fun but I'm happy to be back to my regular color. I feel more like myself!

I'm on a roll today! Three blog posts. This is what procrastination looks like, ladies and gentlemen. I promise myself that I will get back to work after this post. Annnnd back to work.

Love love,
Keiko Lynn

The whole reason for my trip to Florida:

I got to pick up Kitty Boos and bring him home!

The plane ride was kind of rough on him but he has since adjusted really well. He is back to normal and healthy! Vester is being a bit of a punk toward him (when Boo is using the litter box, he sits on top and occasionally smacks him in the face), Lacy is a lady and welcomed him, but Miku was beside herself. She was literally jumping with joy. She loves her little Boo; she is very protective with him. We're so happy to have him here and in good health.

And just because he was the cutest little kitten ever, here are some old pictures to enjoy:

Kitty Boos wouldn't even be alive without your help. Thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart. Your donations, advice, emotional support and general kindness have been so wonderful.

Love love,

Keiko Lynn (and Kitty Boos)
