Look who's back for another Makeup Monday (on Tuesday): my dear friend Christine of My Style Pill! Last week, Christine asked me to demonstrate a smokey eye she could easily replicate; this week, she requested tips on pulling off a red lip. I've already given a step by step tutorial for red lips, so this time I documented the full face. When wearing a bold lip with otherwise pared down features, I like to focus on perfecting the skin.
For everyday wear, you might not need or want to use all of these products - and that's okay! For special occasions, photos, or when you want a little oomph, the additional steps are absolutely worth the few extra minutes. I broke down the whole process, so while it might seem like a lot of work, it's achievable in very little time. That's why a bold lip is my go-to! Here's what I used:

Skin: Estee Lauder Matte Perfecting Primer, Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, blending sponge (I use a variant of the Beauty Blender), Make Up For Ever HD Foundation, Make Up For Ever Uplight #22

Cheeks: Estee Lauder Mad Men Collection Creme Rouge, MAC Fix+, MAC 187 brush

Brows and eyes: Sonia Kashuk brow brush, Smashbox Brow Tech, MAC Zoom Lash

Lips: MAC Prep + Prime Lip, MAC Redd lip liner, MAC retractable lip brush, MAC Russian Red
Want to recreate this look? Keep reading after the jump for step by step instructions and photos.

(I left this part out, since Christine is lucky and has very clear skin - but now is the time to use concealer on any blemishes.)

That's it! You're done. One thing I left out: you can finish with a light dusting of translucent powder to set your makeup and banish excess shine. I dusted it on her t-zone and chin only, to keep that glow on her cheeks. Carry blotting papers with you to blot excess shine throughout the day, and wake up tired makeup with a spritz of your Fix+! As for the red lips, MAC Russian Red is my all time favorite, and it's incredibly long lasting, but carry it with you for touch ups. I love the retractable lip brush because I can throw it in my purse and not worry about any mess.

I can't wait to find the perfect red lipstick and liner for me.
